They are a family-run business whose philosophy has always been “if you take care of the customer, everything else will take care of itself.” Their clean cooking techniques have made their shop, the go-to dinner place for busy families since 1989. And their award-winning recipes have kept people’s mouths watering for Charlie’s food for over 30 years and many to come.
The first Chargrill Charlie’s opened its doors in 1989 on the golden shores of Coogee, and it has really just taken off since then! Although the Coogee shop is no longer, it gave way to eleven other flourishing stores across Sydney.
They have always believed that to prepare the best food you must only use the best quality ingredients. So they only ever buy the best and the freshest, seasonal produce available. This means by default their food needs very little added to it to taste amazing! Since the first shop opened in 1989, they have continued to grow and evolve their menu. We still offer stuffed chargrilled and Portuguese-style chicken but they are modern in every regard. They only use fresh ingredients and offer a wide range of food from healthy, clean-eating salads to indulgences like burgers and fried wedges.
They essentially do two types of catering, in-store catering, for picnics, functions and parties where you can select from any of the food they normally sell in the shop. And then there’s their corporate catering, which caters for bigger parties and corporate events. Their corporate menu has a different menu to their in-store options.
Their food ethos is simple. At Chargrill Charlie’s, they believe that the choices we make about what we eat, where it comes from and how it is prepared to have a direct and powerful impact on the health of their customers, the communities they operate in and the environment.
Since 1989 they have been looking for ways to source smarter, to make better decisions and to help Chargrill Charlie’s and its customers be a positive force in the world and on the food system. They feel a great sense of responsibility and pride to change what it means to be in the business of feeding people. They would love to hear from you.
